Your Opinion about M1911.ORG and its sites.Questions and Suggestions about M1911.ORG sites.Industry Announcements and Press Releases.Question is "why doesn't this one ( or my stainless Mil-Spec) have an "IMBEL - BRAZIL" marking? Why all the other differences? the frame is rollmarked "GENESEO IL USA". but I think this parkerized one has it beat. My stainless "NM" Springfield comes close. It had the slickest slide racking that I've ever felt. The parkerized finish on the Springfield was incredible. one of the tightest frame to slide fittings I've ever seen in a production 1911A1. But, the "NM" Mil-Spec was so tightly fitted there was absolutely zero movement. and yes, Government Models are like this we hear. the slide to frame fit is noticeably loose. There was a NIB stainless Colt Series 1991 "O1091" on the same display shelf. The Colt guys & gals are gonna be all over me for this one. it's shiney at the ejection port but parkerized on the end, just like Springfield's catalog and online photos show. my older parkerized Mil-Spec with a "N" prefix doesn't. The entire barrel is a polished stainless finish. where my older parkerized Mil-Spec has a parkerized barrel bushing. The barrel bushing was stainless on this Mil-Spec. I didn't take the right side grip panel off in the store, it's a NIB pistol. Again, there is NO laser etched markings under the dustcover. This is the first one I've seen there in about three years or so. I walked into my local gunstore the other day and they had a NIB parkerized Mil-Spec also with a "NM" serial number prefix. even the two that typically show up under the dustcover and right side grip panel. There isn't a single marking on this pistol that says anything about Brazil. I've a stainless Mil-Spec with a "NM" serial number prefix.
